Students struggling financially should attend Young Money Live on March 14 at the College of Southern Nevada. Learn about money-management: how to budget, how to save and how to invest.
“My presentation is about getting young adults to dream again,” says Todd Romer, founder of Young Money Events, a company that brings financial education to the young-adult market. The presentation Young Money Live will help students with financial goals.
Romer will cover four simple steps to achieving financial success including: start saving 10 percent of income automatically per month, just say no sometimes, get into the game of investing, and pay yourself second.
“Once they get this money thing down and get on a system, then their dreams of starting a business and pursuing a career can be a bit less stressful,” Romer says.
The event at the CSN Henderson campus is hosted by Dr. Jeffrey Jones, CSN accounting and business professor.
Students will leave with an enhanced knowledge of ways to save and invest money while working and pursuing a college education.
“They [attendees] will get a look at personal backgrounds and how to make an education work,” Jones says. “They will also gain insight on financial health and wellness now.”
This is the third Young Money Live event at CSN. According to Jones, the event received positive feedback from participants during previous semesters. Jones also said there is a possibility the event could spread to Clark County School District high schools.
Young Money Live is on Thursday, March 14 at the CSN Henderson campus in room C-133 at 12:30 p.m. The speakers and other professionals, including Bret Runion, owner of Desert Sun Realty and speaker at the event, will be available after the presentation to answer any questions.
