Student support services from TRiO are offered at CSN. Success doesn’t always come easily especially for new college students. TRiO offers guidance.
TRiO helps with educational planning, four-year college tours, information about scholarships, tutoring sessions, computer lab information, loan details, progress reports, and updates are just a few of the tools available to assist students. The team at TRiO wants students to succeed, and that is why its services are provided for free.
Alejandra Romero, a TRiO student, is one such story. “TRiO is immensely beneficial for me, and I see all of the resources I have available. The counselors have been so helpful. They are great with life skills.”
Any student that meets the application requirements is eligible. Requirements include being a U.S. citizen or qualified resident that meets federal-income guidelines. Eligibility also applies for students that have parents that did not graduate from a four-year college. Students with a documented disability with the CSN Disability Resource Center can also take advantage of the services. The program requires that the student be enrolled in at least six credits per semester.
“I now have a plan and I’m not taking random courses” Romero said. With a patient staff, students are bound to leave TRiO with a stronger focus and brighter future.
