Hemophilia is an inherited bleeding disorder and recently locals donated their time and money to help.

On September 29, the National Hemophilia Organization hosted a walk in Las Vegas to raise money to help those with Hemophilia. CSN’s nursing program was one of the top donating teams; the members raised more than $250.

Last year the NHO raised $8,000. This year, they joined 22 other chapters across the United States and collected over $40,000.

The money raised went towards Camp Independence, a week-long camp for children who have bleeding disorders. Educational events, conferences and financial assistance are available for families in need. The next donating event will be May 17, 2013 for the Golf 4 Kids Tournament.
